My Favourite Drinks

Hey Everyone,

I hope you are having a lovely start to the week <3 I have also just come to the realisation that this is the second last Monday of the holidays and I have done no preparation for the new school year...
Anyways, since my last blog post I have tried so many new places and I actually vlogged a lot of my outings but those will never be shown hahaha, watching back on them were not so cute -_-

Before I get started with the blog post I just wanted to share a list of current things I have really loved for this month:
Burgers
My new kitten.. we named him Chuck (as in Chuck Bass from GG) and he is yet to make his debut on my Instagram; if I can get him still for a photo....smh
Really authentic ice-cream
Frank Ocean (this is a reoccurring phase)
Nails
Exercise clothing - although I have no motivation to exercise
Highlighting the . out of my cheekbone

Ok, so my "haul" type, review on my favourite drinks: #thirsty
*ps the very fancy, iconic Babooshka Bar Krispy Kreme milkshake is not included because rather than being called a drink, it is a meal for a family of 4 !! but it still deserved this mini mention ;)

1. Little Angel - this place deserves my paragraph long analysis. !Warning! It is home to the LIQUID NITROGEN AFFOGATO and omg it is honestly the most heavenly drink. Personally, I'm not a huge coffee drinker - half a cup of a weak latte is probably my limit. I love how they have the ice-cream separate from the coffee shot so you can control its strength. They have cool flavours including : hot butter popcorn, pandan and cookies and cream... So I tried the popcorn flavour to change it up. 5 stars!! Little Angel does a beautiful VIOLET HOT CHOCOLATE, this was actually recommended to me and it was very smooth and the flavour had nice balance. Please please please check this place out, it deserves more customers!!

2. Toastface Grillah - this small alleyway is home to ToastFace Grillah and Henry Saw... so it is always the hardest decision to decide where to grab a quick drink. They make just a classic, cold iced chocolate and it is very refreshing. No cream but it doesn't need it because it is just simple and light. <333

3. Tropico - time and time again I mention Tropico in my blog posts. It is my favourite beach cafe as I have mentioned before and it never fails with its drinks. My goal is to one day walk along the beach long enough to actually reach this cafe (by foot not car) and order my green smoothie ahaha.

4. Henry Saw - this place has become a regular visit, I at least go there once or twice a week... I think I missed out on my weekly Strawberry Fields smoothie and I was reminiscing through photos on my camera roll of the iconic strawberries on the straw. This is the place where I first discovered cold drip coffee and you can order it with milk (almond or regular) or sparkling water - both tasting quite lovely. The chocolate peanut butter was also really nice but I will always go back to the STRAWBERRY FIELDS <3

5. Tao Cafe - they have a wide range of mocktails and they are sooo good! Some might say this is bias as I do work at one of the four Taos in Perth..but these make me want to work at the Subiaco store (and just drink these all day long) ! They also just released their smoothie range which I am super keen to try out :D and their Cafe Suda is my favourite drink ever! It's coffee with condensed milk and it really wakes you up (and keeps you up until 3am)..

6. The Brooklyn Lounge - this bar has some really awesome super shakes. We ordered s'mores and the TWINKIES super shake made us feel like we were in America aha. They are very, very indulgent and can be shared - or you can have one to yourself;) I have to say that this place is the highlight of Claremont and you should all definitely try it out <3

Hope you guys enjoyed this review that I have been working on for a while x
Below are just a few pictures from this month that I just wanted to share, but to make sure you are up to date with my life and when I upload new blog posts you can follow my Instagram @anna.martin

Best of the Best | Food | 2015

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are pumped for the new year as much as I am!! I had so many ups and downs over the course of 2015, some bad but the good was very good.
Last year was when I decided to share my love of food with the world and it was the best decision I have ever made. I have always loved to eat and try new things but now it has come to a whole other level and I have discovered so many new little places.

These places you may already know, but I just thought that if you were looking for a place to go specifically, I've got you covered... So letss get started:

1. Best Breakfast: Sayers Food
Yes, this is a well-known cafe but it definitely deserves it's status. You can order donuts for breakfast. Need I say more...

2. Best Place to Indulge: Babooshka Bar
This small cafe is best known for it's donut, Krispy Kreme milkshake with: caramel, 3 donuts, whipped cream, chocolate covered bacon and lollies. The serving size is more than generous and could easily be considered a meal in itself. If this is not your go-to place for indulgence; I don't know what is?!

3. Best Brownie: Jamie's Italian
Jamie's Italian is that one restaurant that is always tricky to get a table, I also remember the hype when it first opened up. Since then they have changed the menu slightly, added in some more dishes and taken away some, but, the Epic Choc Brownie has remained my most favourite pick. Sometimes I just go to Jamie's for the dessert. This brownie is served warm <333 with ice-cream and caramel popcorn <333 It is not dry and not a small serving size either ;)

4. Best Sushi: Tao Cafe
Taos has a wide range of sushi - regular, deluxe and signature range. The signature range has so many nice picks including the Ichiban roll and Volcano roll.. plus they are very photogenic. You can tell that they are made with love.

5. Best Cakes: Pixel Coffee Brewers
I love this cafe so much, and they have a beautiful cake display. What separates these cakes from the rest is their weirdly, delicious combinations - like basil + chocolate. There is a wide variety and they are very fresh too. Beautiful <3

6. Best Dinner to Share: Sienas in Leederville
This place is my ultimate choice for Italian nights. The portions are large and a few dishes in the middle = perfect to split between friends. It is even better on special nights.

7. Best Dessert to Share: Whisk Creamery
Whisk has many creative desserts made to order and a whole range of gelato flavours to choose from. It is perfect for friend catch ups and definitely worth every calorie.

8. Best "Beachy" Cafe: Tropico North Beach
This cafe is everything that you would expect from it's name. It is chill and has a lot of trendy breakfast meals. My favourite is their banana bread and it's not just any banana bread.. it has a glazed meringue on the top and caramelised bananas <33. Their juices and smoothies are also worth the try too!

9. The closest "IN N OUT" burger in Perth: Varsity Burgers Northbridge
These burgers are the ultimate American style burgers. If you are looking for something on the unhealthy side...just try it out for yourself.

10. Best Drinks: Henry Saw
They do the best strawberry smoothie ever!!! please try this, please. Also their cold drip coffee is very light and cold and everything that you would expect from an iced coffee; minus the added cream on top - because it doesn't need it.

Hope you enjoy xxx

Nobu at Crown Review

Hey everyone,

Hopefully you all enjoyed your week and as for me I am officially on summer holidays!! thankfully.
Stay tuned for more posts, I am really excited to be blogging more often than not. And lastly, a huge hug to everyone who viewed my previous post xoxox

So... just recently I went to Nobo at Crown and I had heard so many great things about it; and it is a regular stop for the Kardashians, what's not to love?
And also... Oprah went to the Perth Nobu that night!

The menu had quite a variety of dishes that sounded very fancy you can view the full menu here

This is a guide to Nobo - specially made for those who don't really enjoy raw things...

I ordered:
Bento Box - Classic $45 this included

  • Sashimi salad
  • Chef’s choice sushi
  • Sauteed vegetables in spicy garlic sauce with rice
  • Prawn tempura in creamy spicy sauce
  • Chicken Teriyaki
  • Miso Soup
The highlight of this dish was definitely the sauteed vegetables, they were surprisingly nice. For people who aren't vegetarian, like me, I wouldn't usually choose to order something only consisting of vegetables but I loved it so much - 5 stars!
The chicken teriyaki was very fresh and you could tell that the chicken was good quality(?). I don't know if that's a valid way to describe chicken but it was definitely freshly made to order. Another positive review.

Edamame $7
This was served warm with sea salt. Yes, the price is high but it could easily be shared amongst three or four people. Very nice appetiser.

Salt and Pepper Squid $19
This dish was yummy, but it didn't necessarily stand out to me. But to share with others, it was very flavoursome and tasty. It could probably use some extra lemon to add some flavour differentiation.

And for dessert.... my favourite part <333

Bento Box $18
Chocolate Fondant and Green Tea Ice Cream
- a lovely combination! Nothing but good things to say about this dessert. The ice-cream was very creamy and the chocolate fondant was warm and filled with chocolate sauce <3

Chocolate Garden $18
Dark Chocolate Soil, Wasabi and White Chocolate Moss with Hazelnut Ganache, Marshmallows, Caramel Snow and Dark Chocolate Ice Cream.
This dessert sounds very extravagant but was surprisingly not so lavish in person. It was very, very delicious and I preferred it out of the two desserts we ordered. The chocolate ice-cream was the highlight for me, but very rich, but very nice. Don't be thrown off by the "wasabi" it only adds colour, no "spicy-ness" was transferred through!!

Overall verdict:
I would 100% recommend trying Nobu next time you visit Crown Perth. It was a really enjoyable experience and the service was on point! Despite the high prices, it is definitely worth the save up and a very nice way to treat yourself to a lovely meal.

---- Hope you guys enjoyed this review, I really enjoyed taking pictures of everything there and writing this up x Please keep updated on Instagram too

Pixel Coffee Brewers, Leederville

Hi Everyone,

Hope that you have enjoyed your week, the holidays are fast approaching! I also just wanted to quickly apologise for my inactivity over the past few weeks as I had exams but now that they are over I have much more time to blog, so expect more posts. xxx

Cakes and Sweets *heart eye emoji*
Today I am sharing with you one of my favourite cafes in Perth:
Pixel Coffee Brewers,
2/226 Oxford St, Leederville WA

This little cafe is just outside the main eatery area
in Leederville and it definitely deserves more attention. Although it is very small inside, every time I have been it has been extra busy - however securing a table is very much worth the wait. The decor is so cute and I love the way they incorporated a soft, mint blue into the tilings.

The food is made fresh to order and the menu features a variety of breakfast/brunch meals which are great to share.

The coffee is also very nice, not too bitter and has a smooth, rich taste. The hot chocolate is a 10.
They also sell Boxed Water - a very popular and Instagram necessity for any flat lay. They also have a wide selection of teas that I am yet to try as I am a tea lover myself.

The cakes are made fresh daily and they are regularly changing them up, but I guarantee that there will be a slice perfect for your taste buds. Pictures to the right is a basil icing chocolate mud cake. Yes, this is a confusing combination but I promise that it is worth the try.

The service is fantastic and there is nothing that I can possibly fault them on. They are friendly and are very attentive to tables - filling up the water and efficiently clearing plates.

My Top Pick:
The Avocado Smash 4.5 stars
2 x pieces of sourdough (multiG), avocado spread on both slices. Topped with creamy feta, poached eggs, parsley and mint. There are also a few pumpkin seeds around the outside for a bit of texture.

The plates are also very, very cute. I adore the little flowers and detailings on the sweets.

I would highly recommend Pixel Brewers for your brunch date. The food is tasty and aesthetically pleasing... Definitely worth your visit.

Lots of Love,
Anna xoxo

PS. Thank you to everyone who reads my blog, it means a lot to me <3 hugs

The Flower Run & Top Dup Donut

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all enjoyed your week, I am definitely ready for the weekend!! I will be going out to a couple of new places, and I will fill you guys in (and mAyBE turn on my location...) This week I found this really cute Instagram page called

It sells lovely, unique bunches from Monday through to Friday and they same day deliver them to your door if you place your order prior to 1pm that afternoon. And the coolest thing is, that you can buy extra add-ons to your bunch like candles, chocolate.... and on Wednesdays they combine with Top Dup and you can order one of their donuts to come with. So I had seen those donuts featured on a couple of my favorite I accounts and I needed to see what the rave is about. #humpdaydonuts

"Inject more brightness into your day with a whimsical bunch of beautiful blooms from The Flower Run. Each day we choose the most beautiful fresh flowers we can find. Jump online, order a bunch, and we’ll do the rest! For the season’s best WA flowers carefully selected, artfully arranged, and delivered to the door, you can’t go past The Flower Run."

My favourite thing about The Flower Run is that it is a local business and the ladies there are so nice and friendly. The bunches are so carefully put together and they are different every day. I am very impressed with how the business donates $1 from every bunch sold to a charity, that's a nice touch. I would 100% recommend ordering from these guys if you are considering sending someone flowers for any reason or occasion. The price ranges from around thirty to one hundred dollars, and I think it is worth every dollar. They are so personal and the small bunch is actually a very decent size as well.

The TopDup donut "topped" it off. Although you don't get to choose the flavour the: Glazed Donut, Dulce de Leche glaze with Chocolate & Peanut Soil was delicious- you need to taste it for yourself to believe how amazing they really are; completely better than a Krispy Kreme. For personal order: georgia@topdup.com

I hope you guys check these out, I highly recommend.

With love,

Mid Month Favourites

Hi Everyone,

I hope you have had a lovely weekend, I am not looking forward to school tomorrow :((((((((((((((((

Thank you to everyone who viewed my Lush Haul, it really meant a lot to me xoxo

In this post I am going to share a couple of things I have enjoyed throughout this month. My birthday is on the 30th so I will keep you all updated on any new products that I try out.

Also, I just wanted to state that everything in the picture to your right was bought with my own money that I work very hard for. And my intention is not to brag, but to share my love of fashion and beauty with you all x

Firstly, the Nars lip pencil pack is my favourite Nars package release ever! The box which the three colours come in is absolutely beautiful. I love the colours on the front and it is made out of glass. Inside comes a decent sized mirror and a one-hole sharpener. The three colours (pictured on the left) are practical, warm shades perfect for every day. They are unlike the original Nars pencils as they are not matte; they give more of a creamy to satin finish. The three pencils come to a total of around $70AUD which is great value for three shades. What I like most about the Nars lip pencils is that you can skip the lip liner step as the Nars Lip Pencil creates a smooth lining, making over-drawn lips a possibility too.

The "All Black" watch from The Fifth's Melbourne Minimal collection is something that I have had my eye on for a couple of months now. I love this brand because I think that the concept of the whole brand is very cute, they are obviously obsessed with the number 5 so... these watches are only on sale for 5 days from the 5th of every month. If you miss out you need to wait until the next month, this makes owners feel more a bit more "exclusive"ahaha. I found this label through Instagram and I knew I needed one in my life - they have two ranges atm: New York Classic and Melbourne Minimal. If you are interested in buying one of these watches I would highly suggest becoming a VIP (it's free) to make sure you get one before the general public - yes they do sell out. Also, just to add, the watches are also very affordable (mine was $139) and shipping within Australia is free. So far, I am overly impressed by the brand - it's so beautiful and "timeless"

I have recently rediscovered the Nars Sheer Glow foundation. I love the coverage, it is medium and leaves my face looking radiant but not too dewy because sometimes that gets confused with oil! I prefer to work this in with my hands but if you prefer to use a sponge or a brush, they work well too. It is a very light and versatile foundation with a large range of complexion colours to match all skins colours. This foundation has always been a favourite of mine. I am currently wearing the colour Barcelona. The only downside is that it doesn't come with a pump, that costs extra :'(

And lastly my little crossbody Coach bag, I am IN LOVE. Prior to buying this bag I had my heart completely set on the Michael Kors Sutton bag in black, the small size. Unfortunately because Perth has limited everything, we did not stock this make in store. But as soon as I saw this bag I knew that this was the one for me. It is soft leather, has an adjustable strap and also comes with an extra little "pencil case" bag inside as well. The reason why I like this bag more than the MK is because it is unique, different from a lot of people. It is very simple and practical and is not too attention seeking. It is also smaller and embodies minimalism; giving off a more youthful look. I am so excited to start wearing it out more often. I love it soo much :').

I hope you all have a lovely week and thank you to everyone who reads my posts. Sorry this was so long, ahaha I am just so passionate about my favourite products and couldn't wait to share them with you all

Lots of love

Anna xoxo

Flora and Fauna Perth

Flora and Fauna Cafe Review

I went to visit this lovely, hidden cafe located in the outer streets of Northbridge and I was extremely pleased with the experience.

The cafe is hidden away in a little land, about a fifteen-minute walk from the heart of Murray Street in the City.

When we arrived we were greeted with the lovely plants and cute little tables outside the front. Although the inside is small, there is a lovely bench along the window (perfect lighting there) overlooking the artistic paintings outside. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, it topped off our first impressions quite lovely.

The menu offered a variety of healthy meals and the glass fridge displayed many photogenic (and highly likely, delicious) desserts and wraps also.

We opted to order the banana bread with Nutella and fruit salad on the side (left), a salted caramel lamington (top right) and a lovely cupcake with pink frosting (bottom right). Every piece of food on those plates did not fail to disappoint - with the total coming to around 24 dollars, which is pretty affordable to share amongst three these days. The lady also offered us some tap water and was presented nicely with a mint leaf inside as well.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Flora and Fauna and we can confidently say that it is our favourite breakfast / brunch places in Perth. It is a five out of five without a doubt.

It is definitely a place to take your Instagram obsessed, healthy, indie friends out for an outing.

Hope you guys try it out!

Lots of Love

Anna xoxo <3
