Nobu at Crown Review

Hey everyone,

Hopefully you all enjoyed your week and as for me I am officially on summer holidays!! thankfully.
Stay tuned for more posts, I am really excited to be blogging more often than not. And lastly, a huge hug to everyone who viewed my previous post xoxox

So... just recently I went to Nobo at Crown and I had heard so many great things about it; and it is a regular stop for the Kardashians, what's not to love?
And also... Oprah went to the Perth Nobu that night!

The menu had quite a variety of dishes that sounded very fancy you can view the full menu here

This is a guide to Nobo - specially made for those who don't really enjoy raw things...

I ordered:
Bento Box - Classic $45 this included

  • Sashimi salad
  • Chef’s choice sushi
  • Sauteed vegetables in spicy garlic sauce with rice
  • Prawn tempura in creamy spicy sauce
  • Chicken Teriyaki
  • Miso Soup
The highlight of this dish was definitely the sauteed vegetables, they were surprisingly nice. For people who aren't vegetarian, like me, I wouldn't usually choose to order something only consisting of vegetables but I loved it so much - 5 stars!
The chicken teriyaki was very fresh and you could tell that the chicken was good quality(?). I don't know if that's a valid way to describe chicken but it was definitely freshly made to order. Another positive review.

Edamame $7
This was served warm with sea salt. Yes, the price is high but it could easily be shared amongst three or four people. Very nice appetiser.

Salt and Pepper Squid $19
This dish was yummy, but it didn't necessarily stand out to me. But to share with others, it was very flavoursome and tasty. It could probably use some extra lemon to add some flavour differentiation.

And for dessert.... my favourite part <333

Bento Box $18
Chocolate Fondant and Green Tea Ice Cream
- a lovely combination! Nothing but good things to say about this dessert. The ice-cream was very creamy and the chocolate fondant was warm and filled with chocolate sauce <3

Chocolate Garden $18
Dark Chocolate Soil, Wasabi and White Chocolate Moss with Hazelnut Ganache, Marshmallows, Caramel Snow and Dark Chocolate Ice Cream.
This dessert sounds very extravagant but was surprisingly not so lavish in person. It was very, very delicious and I preferred it out of the two desserts we ordered. The chocolate ice-cream was the highlight for me, but very rich, but very nice. Don't be thrown off by the "wasabi" it only adds colour, no "spicy-ness" was transferred through!!

Overall verdict:
I would 100% recommend trying Nobu next time you visit Crown Perth. It was a really enjoyable experience and the service was on point! Despite the high prices, it is definitely worth the save up and a very nice way to treat yourself to a lovely meal.

Pixel Coffee Brewers, Leederville

Hi Everyone,

Hope that you have enjoyed your week, the holidays are fast approaching! I also just wanted to quickly apologise for my inactivity over the past few weeks as I had exams but now that they are over I have much more time to blog, so expect more posts. xxx

Cakes and Sweets *heart eye emoji*
Today I am sharing with you one of my favourite cafes in Perth:
Pixel Coffee Brewers
2/226 Oxford St, Leederville WA

This little cafe is just outside the main eatery area
in Leederville and it definitely deserves more attention. Although it is very small inside, every time I have been it has been extra busy - however securing a table is very much worth the wait. The decor is so cute and I love the way they incorporated a soft, mint blue into the tilings.

The food is made fresh to order and the menu features a variety of breakfast/brunch meals which are great to share.

The coffee is also very nice, not too bitter and has a smooth, rich taste. The hot chocolate is a 10.
They also sell Boxed Water - a very popular and Instagram necessity for any flat lay. They also have a wide selection of teas that I am yet to try as I am a tea lover myself.

The cakes are made fresh daily and they are regularly changing them up, but I guarantee that there will be a slice perfect for your taste buds. Pictures to the right is a basil icing chocolate mud cake. Yes, this is a confusing combination but I promise that it is worth the try.

The service is fantastic and there is nothing that I can possibly fault them on. They are friendly and are very attentive to tables - filling up the water and efficiently clearing plates.

My Top Pick:
The Avocado Smash 4.5 stars
2 x pieces of sourdough (multiG), avocado spread on both slices. Topped with creamy feta, poached eggs, parsley and mint. There are also a few pumpkin seeds around the outside for a bit of texture.

The plates are also very, very cute. I adore the little flowers and detailings on the sweets.

I would highly recommend Pixel Brewers for your brunch date. The food is tasty and aesthetically pleasing... Definitely worth your visit.

Lots of Love,
Anna xoxo

PS. Thank you to everyone who reads my blog, it means a lot to me <3 hugs
